Los Angeles Dodgers Host Godzilla Minus Zero Night in Celebration of Upcoming Film
A roar will echo through Dodger Stadium this Thursday as the Los Angeles Dodgers transform the field into a cinematic stage for the much‑anticipated sequel Godzilla Minus Zero. On September 24, the Dodgers’ home‑finale game against the San Diego Padres will be punctuated by a Godzilla‑themed drone display and a special bobblehead giveaway for the first 40,000 ticket holders.
Fans who purchase a valid ticket for the September 24 game will receive a Godzilla Minus Zero bobblehead at the gate. After the contest, the stadium’s sky will come alive with a silhouette of the iconic monster, projected by a fleet of drones in a show presented by Japan’s entertainment powerhouse TOHO. In the days leading up to the night, the venue will host a series of in‑stadium activations to build excitement for the event.
The partnership celebrates the upcoming feature film Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to Godzilla Minus One—which earned the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Oscars. Written, directed, and produced by Takashi Yamazaki, the film follows the Shikishima family in 1949 as they confront a new threat. It will hit U.S. theaters nationwide on November 6, 2026.
“We are pleased to partner with TOHO on Godzilla Minus Zero Night, an evening at the ballpark that should be a sure‑fire hit with Dodger fans,” said Lorenzo Sciarrino, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for the Dodgers. “This will be the perfect event to cap our 2026 regular season home schedule.”
Keiji Ota, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Godzilla Officer at TOHO, added, “We are deeply honored to launch this partnership between the Los Angeles Dodgers – a monumental Major League Baseball franchise that continues to captivate fans worldwide – and Godzilla, a global icon loved for over 70 years.” Ota noted that the collaboration highlights TOHO’s expansion of the Godzilla brand and aims to fuse the monster’s presence with the Dodgers’ dynamic energy.
Founded in 1883 and moved to Los Angeles in 1958, the Dodgers are one of Major League Baseball’s most successful franchises, boasting nine World Series championships and 26 National League pennants, including back‑to‑back titles in 2024 and 2025.
TOHO Co., Ltd., established in 1932, is a leading Japanese entertainment company that produces and distributes films, anime, and theatrical productions. The company is best known for the Godzilla franchise, which has run continuously since 1954, and for classic works such as Seven Samurai and My Hero Academia.
Godzilla Minus One, released in 2023, was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $116 million worldwide and earning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. The sequel, Godzilla Minus Zero, follows the same creative team and is scheduled for a November 2026 release.
Tickets for all Dodgers games, including the September 24 event, can be purchased at dodgers.com/tickets. Fans interested in updates about Godzilla Minus Zero Night can follow the official Godzilla social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube.
The collaboration between the Dodgers and TOHO underscores Los Angeles’s status as a hub for both sports and entertainment. By pairing a major league baseball event with a high‑profile film franchise, the partnership brings together two of California’s most iconic cultural institutions for a unique fan experience.
At present, the Dodgers and TOHO have announced the event details and are preparing in‑stadium activations. Ticket sales are ongoing, and additional information about the partnership will be released in the coming weeks.
