VIDEO: Beach Legacy Fund proponents argue their case

Athletic Department supporters of the department’s proposed student fee increase presented their case Tuesday to the Daily 49er.

The Beach Legacy Fund will have students paying fees of $95 for the semester and $70 for the summer term.  This will replace the current $43 the athletic department receives from each student annually.  The money will go to the construction of athletic facilities and scholarships and in increase in the department’s operating budget.

The proposal was approved by the Student Fee Advisory Committee and will go before students as a referendum March 11-12.

Is this it? Did nobody on the D-49er ask harder questions? What a circus display.

  2. This $95 will not “replace the current $43” it will be added to the current $43 in student fees, making it $138 per semester. Get your facts straight 49er or you are showing you are part of pushing this down students’ throats. How about some journalism?

  3. What is Gonzaga after it’s basketball team? How will being rated with a nothing college increase the value of my diploma?
