Tausala Polynesia drummer Leaso Tufuga and dancer Unica Luna performed for Cal State Long Beach’s Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month kick-off at the University Student Union Southwest Terrace Tuesday. The pair did Polynesian dance and musical performances honoring places like Fiji, Aotearoa (modern-day New Zealand) and Tahiti. Students were welcomed onto the stage toward the end of the show to learn a Tahitian dance. CSULB will celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month throughout April, with events like the Cambodian Student Society Culture Show and the Luau and Graduation Celebration.
