BIL Conference celebrates its 5th anniversary at the Queen Mary

Despite TED signposts on Ocean Boulevard, its younger, more affordable and more accessible brother BIL took over the Queen Mary from March 3-5.

More than 50 speakers on five different stages held presentations during the one-day set up and two-day fete. Some included former Beverly Hills mayor Jimmy Delshad discussing “The Smart City” and Maggie Mayhem on talking about how “‘Trade Shoots’ are changing porn production.” Topics of discussion ranged from space to comedy.

The conference lacked the best smells, but it had great food (not emitting those smells) and plentiful Zico and Activate water.

With the turnout like this, the BIL may finally jump out of the shadows of TED.
