Second servings of 5 things you should not discuss at the dinner table

It is tradition to sit down with people close to you and talk about convivial topics during Thanksgiving.

However, there are some things that can throw off an entire night of festivities. Here is an additional list of some things that should not be said at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

1. No obscene topics

No one at the dinner table wants to hear details about your sex life conquests while they are cutting away at that turkey breast.

2. Death can be a very sensitive subject, especially if it was recent. The mention of a loss can potentially turn the Thanksgiving dinner into a soap opera fest filled with tears and tissues.

3. Money

Nobody wants to hear about what you can’t and can afford this Black Friday. This may lead to discrepancies, thus leading to conï¬ict due to the fact that everyone at the dinner table probably does not make the same exact amount of money.

4. If you are at a boyfriend or girlfriend’s house for Thanksgiving, avoid the topic of your ex.

Fight the urge to mention anything about your ex, no matter how much the smell of the food or the way someone eats reminds you of them. It’s just not relevant. Move on.

5. Lastly, do not talk about your life at work.

That topic is exactly like money in the sense that one person will be unemployed, while the other person has a successful business and a wonderful time at work. Avoid these topics and you will have a wonderful dinner. Enjoy the company of your loved ones, but mostly, the food.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
