The preliminary hearing for the suspected murderer of a former Cal State Long Beach nursing student has been postponed until May 5.
During a 10-minute hearing yesterday, defendant Jonathan Huynh was ordered by Judge Tomson Ong to reappear May 5 at the Long Beach Superior Court.
The Mission Viejo allegedly strangled his 20-year-old girlfriend Kate Sue Yi to death last year. Yi’s body was discovered April 2 by her roommate at her apartment on Bellflower Boulevard. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was asphyxiation by strangulation.
Huynh was arrested April 4 and has a bail set at $1 million.
This is the sixth time the hearing has been postponed.
