Parking fee increases by $1

Amid budget cuts and tuition increases, Cal State Long Beach’s one-day parking permit has increased in price.

Students received an e-mail from Parking and Transportation Services General Manager Mark Rudometkin on June 29 — two days before the increase. The e-mail said starting July 1, all oneday parking permits would be priced at $5. Permits were previously priced at $4.

The announcement for this increase was posted on CSULB’s Parking, Transportation and Events website. However, no announcement was posted on the university’s home page.

At the top of the parking and transportation website the announcement read: “Effective July 1, 2010, parking permits at the yellow dispenser are now $5 per permit per day. A parking permit is required on campus at all times.”
