CSULB student government applications available

The application period to run for Associated Students Inc.’s 2011-12 student government elections will close Friday.

Open positions in ASI include president, vice president, treasurer, USU Board of Trustees member, senator, media board member and 49er Shops representative. Applications must be turned in to University Student Union, room 311 no later than 5 p.m Friday.

Students will be given a chance to earn course credit for their services. Students can register for the self-placed internship program at the Career Development Center, or enroll in an internship or independent studies class through their own academic department.

Benefits include possible monetary compensation, a waiver of university tuition for certain positions and the use of various ASI resources. Online elections are scheduled for March 21-24. Results will be announced on the USU Southwest Terrace on March 25 at noon.
