Long Beach State has announced that the start time for the Dirtbags’ Sunday game against Oregon has been moved to 12:30 p.m., due to Oregon’s flight time in leaving Southern California.
The first two games of the series will remain at their scheduled times, with the Dirtbags hosting Oregon on Friday night at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m. start on Saturday evening.
Long Beach State finishes a 10-game homestand on Monday by hosting Hawaii for one game at 6:30 p.m.
Men’s volleyball
The sixth-ranked Long Beach State men’s volleyball team completed a season sweep against No. 4 UC Santa Barbara as it topped the Gauchos, 3-1, Wednesday evening at the UCSB Rec Center. The 49ers won, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23.
Senior Mike Klipsch guided the 49er offense to a .316 hitting percentage with 44 assists. Junior Brad Hemmerling led a balanced attack with 14 kills, while also adding seven digs and four blocks. Freshman Taylor Crabb finished with 13 kills, while senior Antwain Aguillard and junior Jim Baughman had 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Senior Kirk Francis registered a match-high 16 digs, marking his third consecutive double-figure dig performance.
LBSU (9-6, 8-4 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) is back on the road Friday when it heads to No. 8 UCLA for a 7 p.m. conference showdown.
