Ledoux and Hampton named Honorable Mention All-Americans

The season may be over for the Long Beach State women’s volleyball team, but national recognition continues to pour in for a couple of the team leaders.

Senior outside hitter Caitlin Ledoux, and sophomore middle blocker Haleigh Hampton were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-America team on Wednesday.

Ledoux became one of eight 49ers to earn the honor three times. Despite missing six games due to injury, Ledoux finished second on the team in kills with 321, fourth on the team in digs with 211 and led the team with 3.61 kills per set.

Hampton solidified her position as one of the best middle blockers in the nation this season. Her breakout campaign included a team best 330 kills on .336 hitting. For the second straight season, Hampton will finish in the top five nationally in blocking–her 1.61 blocks per set ranks third in the nation; her 39 solo blocks were tops in the country.

The last time a pair of ‘Niners were named AVCA All-Americans was back in 2009, when Ledoux and Naomi Washington earned the honor.
