Police shutdown area north of campus

An area north of Cal State Long Beach was shut down following a shooting that involved a California Highway Patrol officer, according to LBReport.com.

Parts of Willow Street around Woodruff Avenue were closed off. As a result, some CSULB students faced a traffic jam and had difficulty getting to campus.

“LBPD successfully apprehended one of the suspects hiding in freeway bushes adjacent to the Woodruff Ave. off-ramp shortly before 2 p.m. through the creative use of tear gas,” according to the news website.
