Masturbator ‘yanked’ from library

A student was caught masturbating at a computer station in the Spidell Technology Center in the University Library on April 11 around 12:35 p.m., Brown said.

The reporting party had described the suspect as an Asian man in his late 20s with black, spiked hair, wearing a brown striped shirt and jeans, Brown said.

Although University Police made contact with the suspect, he was only cited because there was not enough evidence to arrest him, Brown said.

Lion head replica damages fountain

A lion’s head sculpture was found in the Lymon Lough Fountain located near Brotman Hall on April 10 around 1 p.m., University Police Capt. Scott Brown said.

The heavy lion head replica caused $500 of damage to the seal that protects the fountain from leaking to the room below it, which happens to be a computer lab, Brown said.

University Police believe the sculpture incident is linked to a fraternity on campus.

Man with banjo harasses student

A student received annoying phone calls at his or her on-campus workplace from an unwanted visitor on April 12, Brown said.

The suspect was described as a white man in his late 40s who had a straw hat, cane and small guitar or banjo, Brown said.

The man apparently visited the University Student Union frequently and made a student employee feel uncomfortable, Brown said.

University Police have yet to make contact with the suspect and are keeping an eye out for anyone matching his description.

Students fight over a boy

Two students were reported for disturbing the peace in the RLC dorms on April 10 around 6 p.m., Brown said.

The incident occurred when a student’s ex-girlfriend was visiting the dorms and saw the student’s current girlfriend and decided to confront her, Brown said.

The boyfriend, who was the subject of the argument, was not at the scene and received a text message about the confrontation.

He then informed University Police, who arrived on scene as the ex-girlfriend was leaving the area.

The verbal confrontation did not turn violent, but restraining orders may soon be in place for the involved parties, Brown said.

Intoxicated student on campus

A suspicious vehicle was found in Parking Structure 2 on April 8 around 3 a.m., Brown said.

The vehicle was found to be occupied by intoxicated people, including one CSULB student, Brown said.

University Police cited the student and then called a taxi so the intoxicated people could be released off campus.

A license plate was stolen from a 2006 Ford vehicle in the Parkside Dining Hall parking lot on April 6 before 12 p.m., Brown said.

The vehicle was owned by the 49er Shops and the license plate has no value, Brown said.

    Where's the quote?

The headline has yanked in quotes, as if there was a statement to go with it.

I get the sense of humor, but you might wanna make sure you’re using it right if you’re gonna do it and if there was a quote. Otherwise, somebody clearly just wanted the excuse to use yanked.

That is unacceptable. The student who was masturbating should have been ARRESTED and kept out of our community and campus. What they do not understand is that there people, especially CHILDREN who visit the campus from time to time and allowing perverts to get away with this is unacceptable. Shame on CSULB!!!
