Board takes on stakeholder group for advice

The Cal State University has appointed an external group of CSU stakeholders to assist the Special Committee for the Selection of the Chancellor in its search for Chancellor Charles B. Reed’s successor.

The external stakeholders come from various positions across the CSU and were brought on to assist the Board because the group may provide “valuable insight” throughout the selection process, according to CSU Spokesman Mike Uhlenkamp.

The group will meet with the special committee in a closed session on Oct. 3 to review candidates for the position.

Reed, who has served on the Board for 14 years, announced his retirement on May 24 and will continue serving on the Board until his successor is chosen.

The external stakeholders include:

Diana Guerin – Academic Senate Chair

James Postma – Past Academic Senate Chair

David Allison – Cal State Long Beach Student and California State Student Association president

Guy Heston – Alumni Council Chair

Millie Garcia – President, CSU Fullerton

Jim Rosser – President, CSU Los Angeles

Herb Carter – Former CSU Trustee

Vonetta Augustine – Staff, CSU Long Beach
