The Long Beach State men’s basketball team will have 10 of its 30 regular-season games televised this season — five of which will be a part of the Big West Conference’s television package.
The ESPN networks (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU) will broadcast eight of LBSU’s games, including three Big West contests, while Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket will each televise one LBSU conference game.
Long Beach State’s nonconference games at Louisville (Nov. 28) and Kansas (Dec. 6) will each be televised by ESPNU, while LBSU’s three games at the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii will air on ESPN2, ESPNU, or ESPN3. Meanwhile, The 49ers‘ tournament opener against Xavier (Dec. 22) will be broadcast on ESPNU at 8 p.m. (PT).
ESPN networks will broadcast both of The Beach’s games against UC Santa Barbara The Jan. 21 game that will be played in Santa Barbara will air on ESPNU, while the Feb. 22 rematch in Long Beach will be televised on ESPN2. ESPNU will also broadcast the ‘Niners’ home contest against Cal State Fullerton on January 28.
The Fox networks will broadcast LBSU’s home game against the University of the Pacific (Prime Ticket) on January 14 and its road outing at Cal State Fullerton (Fox Sports West) on March 3.
The 49ers might also end up with two more nationally televised games. The Feb. 18 BracketBuster game against an opponent that will be determined later might be broadcast by one of the ESPN networks, while their home game against Cal State Northridge on Feb. 4 could also be seen on either ESPNU or FS West. Both of those networks will choose one of the four Big West Conference games scheduled for that day (UC Santa Barbara vs. Cal State Fullerton, Pacific vs. UC Irvine and UC Davis vs. UC Riverside).
